The metalband Sabaton, with a huge fanbase is this year nominated for a Grammis in the category "Heavymetal of the year". Zitiz gave bassplayer Pär Sundström a call to congratulate
on the nomination and ask a few questions.

The band has delivered a lot of big and to say the least, popular songs during their years. Sabaton is very popular, especially in eastern europe. They were actually nominated for a Grammis in 2008, but had to see themselves defeated by In Flames. But that was no suprise to Pär.

-We couldn´t win, we weren´t even close to them. Sure we wanted to win, but at the same time you have to be realistic. They were simply too big with millions of sold records. But we gave them a fight!

Interviewer: How does it feel this time?

- Well, this time it feels like we have earned it. But it's a bit sad that it's no longer the fans who gets to vote, it feels as the Grammis isn´t as big anymore. There is no gala, but more like a closed-door party where a elite jury decides. It feels
more like a party for the music-industry.

Interviewer: But wouldn´t it feel great to get the recognition?

- Sure its a big recognition, and of course we want to win. We would be seen of a larger crowd, and we want to be seen, haha.

Interviewer: You said you feel you earned it this time, so will you win?

- I'm not the right person to ask if we will win, but the bottom line, yes we deserve to win. There is no other band in Sweden that has done what we have done this year. We had a awesome tour with sold-out venues and a tremendous amount of gigs. It would be great to get a recognition from the elite that we are doing something great here, even if its more fun to get it from the people. We are the peoples band.

Interviewer: Yes, and you would enter the Upperclass-room in Swedish music industry.

- Absolutly, that would be big. But we don´t fit in there, we are the most un-upperclass band in sweden. We are from the region Dalarna, and we play for the people.
